Botox vs Chemical Peels: What’s the Difference?

In today’s world pollution, stress, sedentary lifestyles are taking a toll on our skin. Our skin is losing it’s elasticity & youthfulness at a rapid pace. We don’t want to look & feel older. So what we do is we seek help from outside to replenish our lost beauty.

Two of such beauty treatments which are very popular among dermatologists are Botox & Chemical Peel. But are they same? What they do? Let’s find out.

Botox is basically the treatment of choice for lessening “Dynamic Wrinkles”. Now what is a dynamic wrinkle? This is the wrinkle that we get through our muscle movement. Like when we smile we get wrinkles on both sides of our eyes. Or due to frequent frowning we get forehead wrinkles. Botox works best on this kind of wrinkles to make us look younger. To reshape our face sometimes we use this along with dermal fillers or thread lifting. Apart from this we have other usage of botox.

Chemical peel on the other hand is used for skin rejuvenation & other skin problems such as acne or melasma. It works by peeling off the outer dirty layer of skin & promoting new skin growth. Peeling agents are chosen by dermatologists based on individual’s skin type & skin need.

So mode of work wise these two are completely different except in two points. One. They both are used for enhancement of beauty. Two. They both need to be performed by only expertdermatologists because if not done by experts, they both can cause severe destruction of skin. So whatever method you try, consult a skin expert first.
